It is amazing to think that when opportunity stares you in the face you choose to turn away. If your dream is to make a movie, are you the one that is going to be surfing the web for answers or are you going to take a chance at the door that has opened for you.
Often times I wonder what life would have been like going through different doors. If a door is open, does that mean you need to go through it? Can you peek in and see what is going on behind the door. It's in our nature to want to see what's behind the closed door. When I was growing up it was Monty Hall who wanted to make a deal to allow you to see what was behind the door. Once you did make the deal you were stuck with it.
Our doors at DVP are open. We want to provide opportunities for you and help you in creating your dream.
Opportunities don't come by that often, and with a chance to try your dream why would you waste it. Why? That is the question I pose to you?
I think that the opportunities that are open to us are amazing, all the equipment, and programs that we have are awesome. We have really great teachers that know everything that they are talking about, and try their hardest to teach us as much as they can. This is the best class i've been in since i started school i think, the funnest for sure.
ReplyDeleteyou guys are luckier than myself
ReplyDeleteyour at an age that most companies are willing to take a chance on.
Myself its a little harder to get into the door because of my age and my background. you don't realize how lucky you truly are.
so please don't waste your time or our teachers time. Even if you only use the know age you have gained for home use still come to work not to play.
AS THE GREAT YODA SAID.....DO OR DO NOT THERE IS NO TRY....
Do yourself a favor and put your heart and soul in to what you learn you be proud you did and you'll have a skill that not many will have.
This class is by far the best class that I have ever had in my entire high school career. The opportunities that are available to us are unbelievable. Anybody who wants a great opportunity like ours in the real world would be harder to get than the opportunities we have here! Everything that you teach us is to our benefit which is awesome! Some people take for granted such a great course as this and to me that is foolish! Thank you for being there for us every step of the way and helping us out with every project and taking the time to listen to us, Mr. K. This class is the best!
ReplyDeleteWhat we have available to us is amazing. We always joke about how expensive stuff is in here, but in reality, why do you think it's so expensive? Using said equipment, we were able to fully light, staff, an conduct an interview with our states NBA team, an opportunity not exactly handed to someone. The programs we use to edit are close to (if not) top of the line programs, and we aren't using mics that were bought from a hole-in-the-wall music store. I think our negligence of this wonderful equipment is due to us being spoiled from using it over a period of time. We've used it so long, that it seems almost inferior to what lies in the professional world (which in retrospect, is hilarious). This situation affects our perception of the opportunities provided not only from our instructors, but from the outside i.e. OKC Thunder.
ReplyDeleteI believe our resources provided to us are quite amazing. The lack of respect from the equipment comes from not ignorance, but of self attitude problems. A lack of respect shouldn't be brought into the classroom, ruining things for the rest of us. We have great computers, great cameras, and great instructors. If there's a lack of motivation, it most likely has to do with people bringing their problems into other aspects of their lives. You can't force someone to do something, the outcome won't be their best. They have to want to, and thats usually all up to them.
ReplyDeleteI believe in one quote
ReplyDelete"Do or do not there is no try"
-Yoda
This is motivation for life. This class is not a try class. A student has to just get things done. stalling of being lazy just makes the class difficult and produces poor products.
I agree with the person above me. We were accepted into this class to use it to the best of our abilities to succeed in our creativity.
ReplyDeleteI love that you all Mr.K and Mrs.Smith motivate us to use what we have to chase our dreams but sometimes for me it's the reaction I get from people when I do try, people tend to get so negative about things it becomes intimidating to me to try again. My goal is not to make enemies here but in some situations it just happens, especially when i move on. But I am working everyday to change peoples views about me and my view about people. I hate making enemies but if I have no enemies I am not doing something right.
